Corsair ha ampliato di recente il catalogo di memoria RAM DDR3 con un kit da 8GB (2x4GB) ad alte prestazioni nell'ambito della linea Vengeance Extreme, definito dal maker come il prodotto più veloce al mondo nel settore dei PC.
Il kit (SKU: CML8GX3M2A3000C12R) include due DIMM DDR3 da 4GB di tipo PC3-24000: i nuovi moduli, infatti, sono in grado di lavorare in configurazione dual-channel a 3000MHz, con una tensione di polarizzazione pari a 1.65V, un profilo di timing pari a 12-14-14-36 e il cooler ad aria fornito in dotazione.
In accordo al comunicato stampa di Corsair, il kit include un dissipatore Kingpin Cooling utilizzabile da coloro che vogliono spingere le DIMM oltre la soglia dei 3000MHz con l'ausilio dell'azoto liquido.
Corsair ha testato le nuove Vengeance Extreme con il supporto di piattaforme Intel Z77, come le motherboard ASUS P8Z77-I DELUXE e ASRock Z77 OC Formula, e sottolinea che esse richiedono il memory controller integrato nei processori Core di terza generazione ("Ivy Bridge") per lavorare a 3000MHz.
Il nuovo kit Vengeance Extreme 8GB sarà disponibile entro la fine di marzo, anche se in quantità limitata: il suo MSRP è pari a $749.99.

Fitted with low profile "racing red" heat spreaders, the new 2x4GB memory kits operate at 3000MHz air-cooled, with latency settings of 12-14-14-36, at 1.65V. A Kingpin Cooling memory cooler is included for overclockers who want to use LN2 (liquid nitrogen) to reach memory speeds well beyond 3000MHz.
The extreme-speed 3000MHz rating of the Vengeance Extreme memory kits is the result of a rigorous internal four-stage hand-screening process performed by Corsair engineers. This process is passed by fewer than one in 50 memory ICs. Performance qualification is performed on select Intel Z77 based motherboards, including the ASUS P8Z77-I DELUXE and ASRock Z77 OC Formula. To hit their rated speeds, the modules require a 3rd Generation Intel Core unlocked processor with an Integrated Memory Controller capable of running 3000MHz.
